The sun was shining, the wine was flowing and Darius Rucker was rocking Friday night at the Kentucky Vineyards of Elk Creek! My husband and I went with friends to the outdoor concert and it was nothing short of amazing!
Tickets had sold out early and the area surrounding the outdoor amphitheater was packed with fans, old and young alike. Even if you weren’t a big Daruis Rucker fan when you got there, you were definitely one when you left! His sultry voice and sweet manners had all the women just itching to get on that stage. He’s so gracious too that you can’t help but fall in love with him. He thanked everyone for taking the time to come out and see them play not just once but several times!
He sang everything from his current country hits off his debut album “Learn To Live”;
- Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It
- It Won’t Be Like This For Long
- Drinkin’ and Dialin’
To his songs from Hootie and the Blowfish days;
- Let Her Cry
- Only Wanna Be With You
- Hold My Hand
This concert was one for the record books for Elk Creek Vineyards! Whether you had VIP tickets or general admission it didn’t matter. No one had bad seats! The great and unique thing about the outdoor concerts at Elk Creek is that you get to see a big name performer in a small town setting making the concert seem more personal and definitely more memorable!
Friday night was perfect! It is one that I will remember for a long time! Elk Creek Vineyards outdid themselves with this one! If you ever get a chance to go to one of their outdoor concert series events…do!

At the end of the night Darius came back out for three encores! He ended the night with an astounding performance of Purple Rain that the crowd went crazy for! He’s no longer an ”up-and-coming” country artist in my book – he’s already there!!
