Hello to all my fellow wine connoisseurs! Fall is in full swing and with it some wonderfully cool temperatures, perfect for a night of sitting by the fire with good friends, good music and great wine! There is no place I’d rather be than at Elk Creek Winery this time of year. Situated in the heart of Owenton, Kentucky surrounded by beautiful hills and valleys, Elk Creek Vineyards is a picture perfect place in the autumn season.
So much is going on at Elk Creek, starting with the website – notice the great changes, beautiful graphics and easy to follow screens? I could spend hours just searching through everything Elk Creek Vineyards has to offer from the award winning Kentucky wines to their gorgeous Bed and Breakfast, everything is amazing! However, I’m not the only one that loves this place, check out what reporter Greg Stotelmyer has to say in his “Kentucky Backroads” feature news report about the man who brought Elk Creek Vineyards to life, Curtis Sigretto.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of visiting Elk Creek Vineyards, then now is your chance! Thanksgiving weekend they are celebrating their three year anniversary of wine production with an Elk Creek Vineyards Open House and we (the wine lovers) get to reap the benefits of all their hard work. I still can’t believe it’s been three years already! Like the old saying goes, “Time flies when you’re having fun!” Relaxing and fun are two words that Elk Creek has down pat!
Stop by on either (or both) Friday, November 27 or Saturday, November 28 and see for yourself what the largest winery in the state of Kentucky has to offer. There will be live music, hors d’oeurves and excellent wine – plus you’ll be able to sample some of their new outstanding releases. I can’t think of a better way to wind down after all the running around and preparing for Thanksgiving Day, than to enjoy a bottle (or two) of wine with friends and family at Elk Creek!
