Big Weekend at Elk Creek!

This Friday night, July 17th, the outdoor amphitheater is going to be home to an amazing performer! Formerly the voice behind Hootie and the Blowfish, Darius Rucker has gone country – and man is he good!

His first country album, Learn to Live, debut at #1 on the Billboard charts and the New York Times has claimed the album as “one of the year’s most vibrant country albums!” I love his hit single “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It!” I have this CD and believe me I play it constantly! He’s such a good guy you can’t help falling in love with his music!

So bring your family and friends out this Friday night for a great concert, great wine and great southern hospitality at Elk Creek Vineyards!

Then on Saturday the Elk Creek Hunt Club is sponsoring a shoot to benefit the Mario Robles foundation. Mario was a beloved member of the Elk Creek family and friend not only to those who worked with him, but to those who were fortunate enough to meet him. His smile and personality were contagious! Mario left bethind his three beautiful children and loving wife at the much too young age of 25. This annual shoot is in remembrance of Mario and his dedication to Elk Creek. U.S. Open Sporting Clay Event at Hunt Club Was A Huge Success!

This past week Elk Creek Hunt Club was honored to host the U.S. Open Sporting Clay Championships. The US Open is the sport’s second-largest annual competition, behind the Nationals, which are held at the NSCA’s headquarters in San Antonio. This was the first time the U.S Open had been held in Kentucky; and what better setting than Elk Creek Hunt Club!

The week was filled with over 1000 shooters from all over the country looking to become the HOA (high over all) Champion in the main sporting clay event. There were other events as well that had the shooters vying for first place; All-American Preliminary event, 5-Stand, FITASC and small-guage competition.

The Elk Creek Winery made for a beautiful backdrop for the week long event hosting a wine-tasting Friday night and a dinner and gala on Saturday night. After long days of competitive shooting, the evenings were filled with relaxing under the stars on the deck of the winery while enjoying excellent Estate Wine from Elk Creek Vineyards.

Vender booths were set up along the lake selling everything from prescription shooting glasses to leather barrel rest toe pads.
