Once again Elk Creek Vineyards has exciting plans on its outdoor stage in October.  We love showcasing local talent and with the Ohio duo group Over The Rhine “talent” is an understatement.  With deep roots in Ohio the married duo Linford Detweiler and Karin Bergquist are at the heart of Over The Rhine.  They were recently named to Paste Magazine’s list of 100 Best Living Songwriter’s.  They have a great collection of songs incorporating jazz, blues, folk and rock.  Just listen to some of the words their fans use to describe the music of OTR:

Karin Bergquist has the most beautiful voice that you simply have to hear!  I could listen to her for hours!  A good friend of mine, Maggie took me to see them a few years ago in Cincinnati and I’ve been hooked ever since.  She’s been a faithful fan of theirs for over ten years now and absolutely loves their music to this day.  We never miss their Christmas tour they have in Cincinnati and this year is their Special 20th Anniversary Celebration concert at the Taft Theater.  You can bet Maggie and I will be there, but first you’ll find us on October 11th here at Elk Creek Vineyards enjoying a beautiful fall evening, an amazing bottle of wine and a wonderful outdoor concert from Over The Rhine.  Grab a ticket and we’ll see you there!   

Wow, the outdoor amphitheater at Elk Creek Vineyards in going to be rockin on September 27th with a singer that The Academy of Country Music has given the distinct honor of “Top Female Vocalist” – Sara Evans!  This is a huge event for us here at Elk Creek and we are looking forward to an amazing concert with tickets selling like wildfire.   Hailed by People Magazine as one of the world’s most beautiful people, Sara Evans has that farm girl charm and still holds true to her good values from her small town upbringing in Missouri.  She has five albums under her belt which has established her as an elite member of Music Hall with her latest being her “Greatest Hits” in 2007.  At any given time you’ll hear her music being played around the country on every country music station.

As with all our outdoor concerts you can purchase tickets online and enjoy the concert from our VIP section at the winery, select a seat from our Gold Circle or Preferred Seating near the stage or bring your own chair and blankets with General Admission.  What a great time to get all your friends together and make a night of it!  Autumn is coming and I can’t think of a better way to enjoy a nice fall Saturday evening than relaxing outside with your friends, sharing a bottle (or two) of wine and all the while listening to the amazing voice of Sara Evans!

Also in concert that night as an opening act and a second act is Zach Simpson and the Van Murals from Nashville, Tennessee and another great country music artist Darryl Worley.  Gates open at 4:00pm with Zach Simpson starting things off at 5:15pm.  There’s no time to waste, reserve your tickets now for Elk Creek Vineyard’s biggest outdoor concert event so far this year!  Believe me, this is one you don’t want to miss!
