The sky clouded up and thunder could be heard in the distant, but at Elk Creek Vineyards last Friday night only a few splattering of rain drops was all that fell as the warm-up band set up. By the time the Beach Boys came out on stage, the weather was absolutely beautiful. Those California boys sure know how to chase the clouds away!
The crowd was ready for them too. Tropical wear, khaki’s and flip flops were the attire for the evening and beach balls were surfing overhead as the Beach Boys began to sing some of their biggest hits. At the first hint of music the fans were on their feet. Who would be able to sit down when the Beach Boys are singing songs that make you stand up and dance!
- Be True To Your School
- Little Deuce Coupe
- Help Me Rhonda
- Fun Fun Fun
- California Girls
- Good Vibrations
- 409
- Wouldn’t It Be Nice
The concert was so much fun and they sounded great! As night descended and the Beach Boys walked off stage, nobody moved – they wanted an encore. The amphitheater lights dimmed, the crowd quiet, but all of a sudden you could hear… “Aruba, Jamaica, ooh I wanna take you to Bermuda, Bahama, come on pretty mama,”and once again the crowd went wild! The stage lit up and the Beach Boys were giving us what we wanted. They ended the night with “Kokomo” one of my favorite songs (and apparently everyone else’s)!
Elk Creek Vineyards really outdid themselves this time. The food was amazing, the wine outstanding and the music wonderful; all with the overwhelming feeling of “relaxing and having a great time”…it was a perfect evening!
